LEAD

LEAD

What is LEAD?

LEAD is one of our leadership programmes specifically designed to develop your senior leaders of the future.

If you are looking to develop your leadership strength in depth, and create leaders who act with courage, have exceptional self-awareness and resilience, take accountability in ambiguous situations and who are comfortable working across organisational boundaries, LEAD may be the programme you’ve been looking for.

LEAD is a three module programme which accelerates the development of your senior talent and creates cross functional leadership capability.

Facilitated and structured to provide an experience which is safe enough, yet stretching enough, to enable profound transformation. Those attending make changes they wanted to make yet didn’t think they could.

Each group is a cross organisation mix of people from your various business units who, over the course of the programme, develop their thinking and relationships in ways that lead to longstanding improvements in how work gets done.

Each module gives participants the opportunity to interact with current executives in a meaningful way, in turn those executives build relationships with talented people from across the organisation, broadening the talent network.

The week-long residential modules allow for a much greater depth of experience with participants able to engage in the programme fully away from the distractions of work.

The Programme

Module 1 • What makes you do what you do?

This takes people into a deep exploration of what has made them the leader they are today. Raising awareness of how that impacts on their relationships at work and on their leadership approaches, behaviours and style, revealing their assumptions and blockers.

The combination of the design and skilled facilitation builds relationships and creates a climate enabling them to understand themselves and each other in a deeper way than they have ever experienced before - achieved through personal exploration of past, present and future; group work and skills development.

Module 2 • What makes your organisation do what it does?

With the deep insights and skills gained in week 1 the participants are immersed in the high pressured environment of a real business with a live business challenge to address.

Working within one Business Unit they need to understand and evaluate the problem, scope solutions and present recommendations to an exec panel within a short space of time. This gives the hosting business area new perspectives and thinking on old intractable problems.

For the participants this provides an opportunity to disrupt their usual patterns of thinking and ways of working. They actively experiment, getting live, in the moment feedback on their impact as they do so. It is like holding up a large mirror – there is no place to hide from themselves or others.

Module 3 • What can you do when you don’t know what to do?

This final module removes the scaffolding. Stepping into a highly ambiguous situation they must work out how to bring all that they have learned in the first two modules and find out what to do.It transforms the way people think and the way they frame issues. They learn to work in the grey, which is what they will need to do when they move up the organisation, and create order and structure where there is none.

As well as ending the programme on a collective high, the learning here strengthens resilience, deepens insights and increases confidence, enabling ongoing learning and reflection as they move into bigger roles.
