Roger Coles
“In my 20-plus years of working with individuals and teams in organisations, I’ve come to realise that my purpose in life is to help clients build more healthy and effective workplaces by focusing on the fundamentals of human nature. I think sometimes in business we forget what it is to be human – the great gifts and of course the foibles, which we all share.
I’ve worked both as an external consultant and in internal roles, most recently as Head of Leadership Development at the BBC, where I spent five years. During this time I also qualified as an executive coach.
In previous roles, I worked for Vodafone UK, focusing on organisational change, in particular around M&A, and before that at Virgin Media, doing culture change. I also have experience of financial services, professional services, retail, manufacturing and automotive.
People describe me as warm and genuine, with a passion for personal development that rubs off on others. I’m known for building trusting relationships and being able to work effectively with people at different levels within an organisation.
I have a background in Occupational Psychology, am a member of the British Psychological Society, and am qualified to use a range of powerful psychometric instruments. I also hold a Practitioner Certificate in Organisation Development with the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioural Science in the U.S.
I live in the South of England with my wife and two sons, and in my spare time I love to be outdoors, especially on mountains or the sea!”
